Getting started
Welcome to KODEO
What KODEO is, how it's organised, and where everything lives — a five-minute tour.

KODEO is a collaborative cloud IDE. You write, run, review and ship code from the browser — alone or with your team, live — without installing anything.
How KODEO is organised
- Workspaces hold everything: projects, members, the plan and billing. You get a personal workspace when you sign up, and you can create or join more.
- Projects live in a workspace. A project is a set of files you open in the editor.
- Members have one of four roles in each workspace: Owner, Admin, Editor or Viewer.
- Plans (Free, Pro and Team) belong to a workspace, not to you. They decide storage, runtime hours, how many projects and members, and how many people can edit live at once.
The editor
Open any project to reach the editor. On a laptop you get the full Monaco editor (the one inside VS Code); on a phone or tablet you get a touch editor built for small screens. Both open the same files and show the same colours.
- Live collaboration — see teammates' cursors, follow them, comment on lines and chat.
- Run — start your project in your own browser tab (Node.js runs there, in WebAssembly) and see it in the Preview.
- Terminal — real terminals with 76 extra commands and Python.
- Git — commit, branch and merge inside KODEO, and push and pull with GitHub.
