Account & security
Can't sign in
Wrong password, a locked account, a code that doesn't arrive, or "you were signed out" — what each means and how to get back in.
Forgot your password
On the sign-in page choose Forgot password?, enter your email, and use the 6-digit code we send to set a new one. If your account has two-factor, you'll still be asked for your authenticator code or a passkey afterwards — that's deliberate.
"Too many attempts"
After several wrong passwords, signing in to that account pauses for a few minutes. Wait, then try again — or reset the password. The account owner gets a security alert about repeated failures.
"You were signed out"
The sign-in page says why a session ended:
| Message | What happened |
|---|---|
| Signed out from another device | You (or someone) ended this session in Settings → Sessions |
| Your password was changed | Every other session ends when the password changes |
| Your email was changed | The same, for an email change |
| Two-factor changed | Turning two-factor on or off ends other sessions |
| Session expired | You chose a session length and it ran out, or the browser closed |
| Suspicious activity | An old sign-in token was used again, so KODEO ended the session to be safe |
Open pages notice too: the app shows the reason and lets you sign in again in a new tab without losing unsaved editor text.
Signing in with Google or GitHub
If you created the account with Google or GitHub, use the same button. To add a password, use Forgot password? with the same email address.
Lost your authenticator app and backup codes
If you think someone else signed in, go to Settings → Sessions and use This wasn't me — it signs out every device and starts a password reset.
